The Steel Truss Bridge was replaced with a new railroad bridge in October of 2014.

Back in the 50s and early 60s I used to swim under this bridge. Brings back some old memories and how easy it was to have fun in a small town.

It's interesting to learn about the first steel truss bridge in Nebraska! Steel truss bridges played a significant role in the development of transportation infrastructure in the United States. They are not only functional, but also architectural marvels. It's great to see how technology has evolved since the construction of the first steel truss bridge, and how they continue to be used today.
